Rome and Pisa
16th September
I arrived late at Rome airport and was informed that accommodation would be a nightmare because it’s the weekend! I think the Pope had something to do with this! - Eventually found a grotty room with shared bathroom, for 80 euros!!!!! ROME CAN WAIT AT THAT COST.

Today I hopped on the train and headed out towards Pisa. LOVELY TRAIN RIDE. Mountains, lakes, the coast - oh how I love those trains! I could travel all day quite happily!
Arrived at Pisa. I am falling in love with the Italians. They are so nice - and ooooooh that accent... And the way they pronounce Burleigh - ''BEEAARRLAYA.'' - sounds quite romantic!
Pisa is beautiful and not too expensive either. Most of the tourists are day-trippers.

Today I visited the Leaning Tower and Cathedral. Took some good photos of the buildings but then started taking photos of the tourists as they pose to make it look as if they are holding up the tower. Some really funny pics; the Japanese are the funniest in karate poses; and the older the tourist the more enthusiastic they are to do outrageous poses! People don’t realise how funny they are!
Saw some funny graffiti outside a gun shop, “SAVE THE NATURE..., KILL YOURSELF!” (Has to be said with an Italian accent!)
