ISTANBUL AND BEYOND.....

3rd September

My daughter, Rachel, and friend flew in from Dalaman and stayed in the same hotel as me in Taksim. We spent some time catching up with news and showing our friend round Istanbul.
I visited Izels Exhibition in Galatasary, not too far from Taksim. It was excellent and in several locations. Photos, artwork, musicians, and food - many people attended. It was very popular.
One afternoon we went to the Grand Bazaar to a factory that makes dance costumes. We were there for hours; both Rachel and friend getting costumes that were tailored. We finished so late at the factory that the Grand Bazaar had closed and we had the unique and spooky experience of being led through the lanes of the Bazaar whilst it was closed.

6th September

We said our goodbyes to our friends and caught our flight to BEIRUT.
