Genoa to Paris

19th September

I caught the train from Genoa to Lugano; a high class town on the Italian/Swiss border, on a huge lake surrounded by the Alps. Lots of fast cars, designer shops and Swiss Banks. I managed to find a not so cheap CHEAP hotel and spent a couple of days on a boat trip around the lake, and also took a cable-car up Mount Bre for an ALPINE walk up the Mountain. They are well into their mountain walking and biking; lots of firm thighs and red cheeks - and the cheeks are mine!
I spent a couple of days here then hopped on another train towards France. Fantastic rail journey across Swiss Alps: the scenery is amazing.

23rd September

I arrived at Basal on French Swiss border. I was only there for one night but made time to visit the Cathedral and Old Town.

24th September

Caught train to Paris; found a cheap hostel in Montmartre area and found I was sharing my room with two loved up Swedes – ok, so long as they don’t ask me to join in!

25th September

AT LAST I GET TO THE LOUVRE! and I remembered to put the seat down afterwards! (!) Exhausting but fantastic; so much to see, saw many famous paintings; the Mona Lisa of course and the cheeky naked nipple-tweaking ladies as featured on Monty Python; I Feel really cultured now!
