Beyond Pisa ...

Arived in Genoa. Lovely trainride along the coast, through Mountains, some of it underground so I guess I missed the best scenery. I decided, in view of time factor, I'd now skip spain and go on up through Switzerland.
Found a very cheap Hotel for the night, in a really dodgey area ... according to Lonely Planet and the lady at the Hotel, I was advised not to go out alone at night and to stay in the main areas. However, there many beautiful buildings and lots of steps leading into allyways... and, yes, they do look a bit suspect; even the muggers go round in pairs!
Looking at the Italian Cartoon scene, there is a big market in Adult Action Comics. Lots of sex and violence and good cartoonwork; the most popular comic is DYLAN DOG.. and it's a man not a dog!
Whilst in Genoa I made time to visit Europes biggest Aquarium; had a great time there admiring the fish and watching sharks being fed. Next day I hopped on a train to Lugano on the Swiss-Italian border.
