We arrived at our Hotel 2am. ABSOLUTELY LOVELY!

7th September

Walked around exploring area of Hamra, looking around shops and along the beachfront. Everyday bustle just carries on, though this place feels less chaotic than Istanbul. If you look around you notice quite a military presence around the streets. There are many buildings still with bullet and bomb damage; they tend to patch the buildings up more near the hotels.
When we got back to our hotel room it had been decorated it out with balloons and there was a bottle of wine, roses and chocolates. It was a lovely surprise. We went for a swim in the rooftop pool, and in the evening Rachel and I went out for a meal at a nice Lebanese Restaurant.
