To Serbia and On

12th August

As I have had limited access to the internet I haven’t been able to keep up to date with any emails, but I decided not to go into Romania due to travel advice about floods, and instead headed for a place called Nis (pronounced 'Neesh') in Serbia . The scenery is amazing! Staying in hotels due to the fact they are cheaper than hostels. So far I have been to the Istanbul fort and a Hamam Restaurant (an old Turkish bath converted to a lovely restaurant) and then to a place called Kulahora where there is a tower of skulls from the time the Turks decapitated the Serbs for the revolt to set an example. I also met a German and Serbian couple who where interested in archaeology and took me to an old roman palace. Then we drove 40km into the mountains to see a fantastic gorge. From there I caught the train to Sofia in Bulgaria and I’ll give more feed back when I arrive in Istanbul!
All the best.

Sue
